Structural Optimization and Computational Mechanics Group

Chair: Prof.dr.ir. A. van Keulen.

The "Structural Optimization and Computational Mechanics" group works at developing numerical techniques and methods for analyzing, designing and optimizing systems. The research is primarily focused on microsystems and biomedical systems. We are looking at accuracy, efficiency and practical applicability. This includes both fundamental and numerical research. Links to experimental work are important for validation.

The group is a member of the "Koiter Institute Delft" - an interfacultary institute within TU Delft and the group also participates in the National Research School "Engineering Mechanics". There is collaboration with various companies including Airbus, Airborne and ALE, NXP, DevLab. The group also participates in organisations such as the Dutch Institute for Metal Research (NIMR) and MicroNed.
